Frequently asked questions

How do I undo a swipe?

Tap the undo button (bottom left) to step back one card at a time. You can undo as many times as you like within the current session.

Are photos deleted immediately when I swipe left?

No. Swiping left marks a photo for deletion but doesn't delete it yet. After your session you'll see a review screen listing every marked photo. Only after you confirm does PhotoSwipe move those photos to your device's Recently Deleted album.

Can I recover a photo after I confirm deletion?

Yes. Deleted photos go to the Recently Deleted album in the Photos app, where they stay for 30 days before being permanently removed. Open Photos → Albums → Recently Deleted to recover them.

What does "kept for 30 days" mean?

When you swipe right, PhotoSwipe remembers that photo for 30 days and won't show it again in future sessions. After 30 days it becomes eligible again. This keeps your swiping sessions fresh without showing the same photos repeatedly.

How do I change the batch size or sort order?

Tap the settings icon on the home screen. You can choose a batch size of 25, 50, or 100 items, sort by random, oldest first, or largest file first, and filter by photos, videos, or both.

Does PhotoSwipe upload my photos anywhere?

No. All processing happens entirely on your device. Your photos never leave your phone. See the Privacy Policy for full details.

Why does PhotoSwipe need access to my photo library?

PhotoSwipe needs read access to display your photos and write access to move selected photos to Recently Deleted. It does not access photos for any other purpose.
